Miller Systems Selected As A 2002 MIMC Awards Finalist for Second Year Running

Maintains Three for Three Track Record Securing Finalist Status Among New England’s Best

Miller Systems, one of Boston’s premier technology consulting firms specializing in web engineering and IT consulting, today announced that its projects for the Boston Society of Architects and endoVia Medical have been selected as finalists in the non-profit and biotechnology/pharmaceutical categories for the 7th Annual MIMC Awards. Held annually by the Massachusetts Interactive Media Council, the MIMC Awards recognize excellence in the creation of interactive technologies designed, produced or developed in New England. The MIMC Awards has been cited as one of the most prestigious awards competitions for New England’s interactive industry and one of the largest technology awards showcases in the country.

“This year’s MIMC Award submissions attracted some of the most impressive interactive technologies in the industry today, said Leslie Cushing, Executive Director of MIMC. “We are delighted to showcase the excellent and innovative use of these technologies in all different sectors.”

“We are delighted to have been selected again this year as a finalist in the MIMC Awards competition,” said Seth Miller, President, CEO and Founder, Miller Systems, Inc. “The fact that all of our submissions over the past two years have been advanced to finalist status is evidence of each project’s technical achievement and economic benefit. More importantly, this recognition serves as a benchmark against which we continually measure ourselves and our work.”

MIMC Award finalist applications for Miller Systems include:

EndoVia Medical: Applying its “beyond brochureware” approach to site architecture, Miller Systems helped endoVia better direct visitors and prospects to relevant content, thereby increasing opportunities to generate revenue. Layering in well-branded design elements, Miller Systems successfully created a website that accurately presented the company’s offerings and brought life to the company’s mission. In addition, using Miller Systems’ dataDriver Job Board and dataDriver Press Room, endoVia’s human resources and marketing staff quickly and easily update news and information on the website and centrally publish job postings and manage candidates, reducing administrative chores and maximizing productivity.

Boston Society of Architects: As the largest branch of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Boston Society of Architects (BSA) has multiple constituencies including members, architects, firms, homeowners, Industry professionals, (including engineers and contractors), interns, students, the media, vendors, public officials, and others interested in design and the built environment with a wide range of needs. Recognizing the need to serve its overall member community better, the BSA partnered with Miller Systems to implement a new public site that leveraged its most valuable content, including dynamic member directories, event calendars, classified advertising, architectural documents, and much more, while keeping the management of that content simple, elegant, and automated wherever possible. Through development of custom applications, integration with legacy systems, and implementation of a site wide CMS, updates and business transactions are easily performed by BSA staff from anywhere. For the first time, the BSA site enables members and other constituents to check membership information and directory listings with a single click. Depending on who they are, the visitors to the site have special targeted pages and applications, all of which are accessible from the home page by audience or by action.

Miller Systems will be recognized with the other finalists in the categories of Non-profit and Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical at a gala awards ceremony attended by over 1,000 of the region’s top technology and business professionals. Winners will be announced at the ceremony in the Boston Copley Place Marriott on Monday, November 4, 2002.

The 2002 MIMC Awards is sponsored by Bingham McCutchen LLP, Boston.com, Magic Hour Communications, MSN, Nixon Peabody LLP, Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLC and Technology Review.
